Today:
Of forts and gardens
Wizard's Log Star-date: 02:17:00 AM
Good morning.
We woke from a fun dream that We remember but do not know if We can
describe. We got up early hoping to go get water and rock. We are
staying more in the now and decided that rather than plan everything
We will do when We get back with the water and rock We will just go
get the water and rock. What a concept. We really are getting better
at staying in the now. We noticed this yesterday when We were at work
and when We got home. We kinda amazed OurSelf.
Okay, the
dream: We were with new found friends, at least One is famous in Our
3D waking and not anyOne We have met. We were in some type of
community and We had some kind of shelter and/or safe place. We do
not know what anyOne needed or wanted protection from but a lot of
people were seeking shelter including this famous person. “They”
asked if We had room for One more and We replied: “There is
All-ways room for One more”. It is true. We could/can All-ways
expand to make room for One more. We kept squeezing everyOne in but
it was not (or did not feel) crowded just friendly and cozy, perhaps
intimate might be a good word. The significance of this world
seemed to be choice. We remember feeling very good about having
choices. Maybe it was more the people's “awareness” of
having choices that struck Us. That would be different for All (or
even most) of the people, the masses to be aware of having choices in
everything.
We
went for water (and also more rock for Our driveway) and a guy who
lives close to the spring (three to five miles from here) said it was
34F at his place this morning. We checked most of Our plantings and
it does not look like We lost anything that was not under plastic so
it probably was not quite that cold here but it was sure chilly. We
have not checked anything under plastic but that should
keep it warmer. Our indoor tomato
plant keeps looking sad but does seem to perk up when the sun is out.
Our stevia is doing well, growing up big and tall and putting out new
leaves All the time. It is not getting bushy but We don't really know
the right way to prune it (take leaves) to promote bushiness. It does
look like it has given birth to a baby stevia plant. We transplanted
it a while back and at the edge of the bigger pot there seems to be a
little bitty stevia plant. It sprouted last week but did not look
like a stevia plant at first. There is another something sprouting
neared the front window. Yesterday We noticed that the One is growing
taller and putting out more leaves and now looks like it is a stevia
plant. The mint that We have inside is also growing well. That
concludes Our plant report for the morning.
We
noticed several possible reasons why We may have waited for three
weeks to go for water and rock. The road construction is less of a
problem and a new sight has opened up where We could possibly get
more rock. It is actually the first area We got rock from close to
twenty years ago but the owner bulldozed a blockage into the area.
Now, that is opened back up and a bunch of rock piled off to the
sides after leveling (probably for building lots). Also, We made a
real haul at the dumpsters of 5 gallon buckets, some cool shit that
We don't know what it really is (yet) and a bunch of scrap plywood.
We use scrap plywood for many things but mainly for covers from rain
AND for paths through the mud etc. in the spring. We All-ready used
up a bunch that was supposed to be saved for rolling Our floor jack
around (it does not do well over rocks and such). We have been
procrastinating changing the studded tires on the truck and maybe now
We will get a-round-tuit. Or not.
The
way the weather looks We are feeling like We may get to the fort
today. We do have rock to convince to get out of the truck and into
the driveway ruts but We don't need to go anywhere for several days
so that can go slowly. We also need/want to remember to save One
bucket of rock for planters.
We
may be close to returning to dream too. We did and We liked it (no,
We don't remember what it was).
We
are doing in and out: playing a bit outside and then taking a break
inside. The mosquitoes are killers. The citronella leaves rubbed on
My skin is preventing bites but “they” still swarm. We are sooooo
programed to hate “them” that just swarming is annoying. We are
going to put a fan in the fort on high speed and play a bit with that
and maybe with Our raised beds. We watered everything else and opened
up the plastic over Our sawhorse greenhouse. Some stuff is growing
great guns and other, well, who knows. We are challenged to just let
those be.
We
finished the first layer of uprights on Our fort. We think We will do
some decorating before We add more uprights as that will be more
easier. It looked like We had a storm moving in so We re-covered
everything We had uncovered and are taking an inside break. We are
waiting for Our camera to email folks the pics of this step. We are
thinking We should look into adding a photo album to Our blog. We
know We can, We just have to find out how. It looks like the storm
was just passing through so We will probably go play some more
outside. We have more painting to do and some whatever. Actually,
there is a lot of whatever. We picked up a plastic tub on wheels (at
the dumpster) which We think will make a great tote for Our
decorations. Too bad We didn't think to look for the lid. Oh, We got
some rock to get out of the truck and lay down in the ruts.
Okay,
We messed with and watered Our raised beds. The plastic over the
asparagus wasn't the way We wanted so We fixed it. Now the rain
should run off uphill and water (but not drown or smash) the
asparagus, the same as the garlic. It should be easy to lift the
plastic on both and add soil. The mosquitoes drove Us away before We
got to add more soil. We theel the plants want Us to wait to add more
soil.
We
added a garland to the fort and added the fort pictures to Our Picasa
albums and added the link to there to Our blog. We may do more rock
or We may not. Shadow says it is just about dinner time.
