SPACE WALKING
Chapter 2
Practice, practice and more practice. Does that sound boring? I imagine it would be for anything less than space walking. To know that after All the practice, someday We will walk in space, unaided by space suits, breathing devices or any mechanical apparatus keeps Us going with joy and enthusiasm.
Yeah, sure, if You are living in My future this may seem odd or silly, but when this is not the norm, it is exciting.
The main thing to practice, or perhaps I should say that what All the other practices and practicing relates to and depends upon is changing Our beliefs. It's not like the Dragon Riding Academy, “they” have the dragons there and that changes a persons reality and beliefs right NOW. Yes, when We are put in a room with no oxygen that changes reality right now too, but it's not the same thing.
The really fun room is the One with no gravity. Talk about a major play room or romp room.
I was reminded of My old question: “If You see someOne jump off a cliff, do You see someOne committing suicide or do You see someOne learning to fly?” Both possibilities are true and real. You will see the version that You believe in. Now, We can add a third option: Do You see a person learning to space walk. Plus, I sense that this is like an arc with suicide being at the lowest point of the arc (quite literally as well as figuratively) flying is the highest point and space walking is in the middle and in between these three points are a vast, nearly infinite number of other options that I Am not yet aware of. How cool is that?
We have beliefs about OurSelves and Our world that limit Us. We think that these limits are mandatory and many of Us have spent Our lives trying to bust these limits, pushing the envelope and generally making very little headway. That is exactly why most of Us are here. We heard of an opportunity to bust One of the mostest major limits and beliefs that Our world holds. Space walking, talk about pushing the envelope.
Yes, We All know that We could go out into space and take a walk. The problem would be getting back. The other problem of course would be breathing, a small thing perhaps but: You try the zero oxygen room and tell Me how that works for You. These are two beliefs that bind Us to Our limited world, Our passed. Two beliefs that seem immutable. Two beliefs that seem written in stone. As the dragons say: “Stones are for sunbathing on, not for limiting Us.”
It takes a lot of practice and experience and repetition to bust these limits and beliefs. That first step was a good step. Now We know that it is possible, that We are possible. We can push Our limits, even if it is just a little bit at a time. One step, and then the next. Setting Our goal at the next step not at the finish line. You see, there really is no finish line. How's that for a change of perspective? We (well most of Us) have lived Our lives believing in a finish line and striving towards it. If there is no finish line, and that is Our focus and goal how will We ever get anywhere? Believe Me, even if there is some finish line, trying to shoot for that when starting to space walk is not gonna work. There are just too many places to fall, or not breathe and get discouraged.
I can take the next step. I took the first step, I can certainly at least take the next step. If I fall, I can stand back up. I can stand back up All day long and put My foot forward One more time and One more time and One more time.
Breathe, I can breathe.
That brings up another point. Breathing in space. Yes, there is quite a bit involved in this. Our body and Our beliefs get tangled up in each other it seems. And so, We practice. We have to morph Our bodies to breathe in a zero oxygen atmosphere. We (obviously) also have to morph Our beliefs. Which comes first? Maybe that is why the chicken crossed the road? Looking for the golden egg?
To One who is experienced at breathing without oxygen it seems a simple task. To a new-breather it appears impossible. That is why We observe others, We have an “adept” with Us when We first start spending time in the zero oxygen room and We get time with the dragons and “their” riders. How do the riders do it without the training We get? That is a question I must ask. For Us, watching others gives Us encouragement.
We also return to the highest mountains where the air is much thinner. Even here at the academy the air is thinner than where most of Us lived most of Our lives. There really are lots of examples for Us to observe and follow. The average, every day bird is familiar with breathing in heavy oxygen content atmosphere and very little oxygen at the heights “they” soar to. Yet, how many of Us give that any thought during Our lives? You certainly do give it thought when You are here at The Space Walking Academy. Yes You do, believe Me.
I can honestly tell You that I have no idea where My next meal (or the last One) comes from. Fortunately, I don't have to care or worry or “make it happen”. I do know a couple of places Our meals do NOT come from. We do not take bribes or gifts from outsiders or any government. We do have gardens and there are people who live here and tend the gardens. We have a lot of staff and each One says that “they” are here by choice. “They” also tell Us that the pantries are All-ways full.
There are some things that go beyond the understanding and believes of the average bean. Things like space walking.
We do not live in complete seclusion or isolation either. Local townsfolk occasionally make the trek to visit, especially for banquets, We are All-most as famous for Our banquets as the dragons. We also hold dances, usually connected with a banquet of course, but not All-ways. It does not happen too often, but there are times when people (either singularly or in groups) come from far distances to visit Us. Mostly curiosity seekers I think and it takes a lot of curiosity to compel anyOne to make the journey here. Sometimes friends and family will accompany a new attendee here or come to visit but that does not happen as often as One might expect.
We do go into town and perform work when needed and thankfully that is not on a regular schedule. We function as a search and rescue team whenever One is needed anywhere around that We can get to. If needed the dragons will transport Us. It certainly is handy to have so many dragons just over the mountains. We are familiar with a lot of the mountain areas All over the world because of “their” value to Our training. It is natural for Us to provide search and rescue services. I Am certain that We are well paid for that though We (as individuals) do not get paid. We are fed, trained, housed and cared for. What more can We ask?
I do not know what might happen to anyOne who refused a task or assignment. I have never heard of it happening. Look at it this way: If a dragon or centaur told (or asked) You to do something would You say: “NO”???????? Even though not All of Our instructors and leaders are dragons or centaurs, everyOne is just as ominous. If nothing else, “they” hold Our very lives in “their” hands when We set about All-most any type of practice or exercise.
And We do practice, practice, practice. After that, there is more practice.
